Update #1, July 11, 2020

uys! Here’s an update for you: https://youtu.be/QaP7U4wpyEo

My mother passed away June, 20th.  This impacted my life decision (ietekmēja) and so we have decided to stay in Latvia.  We are living in Rīga. My daughter is choosing which school she she will attend this fall for grade 10, and I am planning on entering the doctoral study programme at the University of Latvia.  This means I have a lot of studying to do all summer and there is no guarantee that I will get accepted. But trying is the important part, right?

Anyhow, I wanted you to know that I am still in Latvia and I will be returning to Ropaži for important events. Ropaži is a beautiful town and Ropazi Secondary School is an awesome school that you are lucky to have to attend!

I thought you all might really enjoy listening to some cool podcasts this summer to keep up your English listening skills.  Here is a list of podcasts for teens. Most you can just click on, but some you have to sign up for (for free!!!!).

https://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/1134797/best-podcasts-teenagers/

Just click on a podcast and listen!  Feel free to leave comments here, telling me your favourite podcast! Okay, I hope you are having a great summer! (By the way, one of our cats jumped out of our third story window and ran away.  He didn’t like the big city. I am sad about this too.)

Vai Latvijā pastāv rasisms?

Hey, guys!

I watched this a long time ago and had hoped to share it with you.  This is my friend George, a Latvian citizen, whose children were born here and are about your age (a little younger and older).  I had also hoped to have George come and talk with you.  He’s a really cool and intelligent person, also very talented.  Anyhow, here’s a cool video that maybe you can watch if you are interested in his perspective:
